Sustainable Energy Europe Awards 2008 - deadline extended

The deadline for the SEE 2008 Awards Competition has just been extended until 31 October 2007. This gives you the chance still to submit a project and maybe win one of the prestigious prizes that will be awarded during the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) in January/February 2008.

Some background information:

Set in the context of the EU’s commitment to change the landscape of energy, the Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign (www.sustenergy.org) is a communication platform which contributes to the achievement of EU energy policy goals and targets in the fields of renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, clean transport and alternative fuels.

Events will be organised during the Sustainable Energy Week, highlighting the multi-sectoral nature of sustainable energy development and the need co-operative action.
Registration will be available from October. For more information: www.eusew.eu.

One of the key instruments within the SEE Campaign is the Sustainable Energy Partnership, designed to actively involve and promote a wide range of sustainable energy projects and programmes. This year, the foremost examples of successful sustainable energy initiatives have the possibility to be highlighted at a prestigious awards ceremony held in Brussels on 29 January 2008.

Please visit the website (http://www.sustenergy.org/award_competition) or contact the PR desk (Email: pr@sustenergy.org ; Phone: +32 2 340 30 69) for further information.

Based on the success of the SEE Awards Competition 2007, the second edition of the Awards Competition is officially launched. On 29 January 2008 the Awards Ceremony will take place. The annual Awards Competition is an integral part of the SEE Campaign. The competition provides an invaluable opportunity to highlight the successes of the most outstanding, ambitious and innovative programmes or actions and is there to reward those Sustainable Energy Partners most worthy of recognition and praise.

The winning projects will be promoted to the press and showcased as examples of excellence, inspiring energy actors outside the Campaign and providing models to guide and stimulate more recently established partnerships.
